United Nations International School Haiku Contest
United Nations International School Haiku Contest Results for 2020 &2021
Each spring my creative writing students submit their haiku to the United Nations International School Haiku Contest.
In June it was announced that 11 of my students’ haiku had been selected for the 2020 contest and 8 for the 2021 contest.
Joining their cohort for the first time are Jolie Oakman, Renee Macneal, Elsa Krol and the youngest student of them all, Bera Dukel.
Bera’s haiku won first place in the Elementary Division. At the time he was a first grader:

becomes calm
I am incredibly proud of each of my students for their commitment to becoming better writers and being active members of a vibrant writing community.
